About the project

The ARISE Model Primary School at Ikot Ekop is a new public primary school being built in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area. It is one of the model primary schools the Akwa Ibom State Government is building in each of the 31 local government areas under Governor Umo Eno.

Work on the school is ongoing.

The model primary schools are designed with modern classrooms and learning facilities, solar power, a perimeter fence with a security gate, and staff quarters. Under the programme, pupils also receive school uniforms, books, shoes and bags.

When finished, the school is expected to give children in Ikot Ekop and nearby communities a safe, well-equipped place to learn and to help raise school enrolment. Education is a key part of the ARISE Agenda.

When finished, the school is meant to give children in Ikot Ekop a better place to learn close to home. Model schools are planned with improved facilities for pupils and teachers.
