About the project
The ARISE Model Primary School, Oyubia, is the upgrade of Methodist Central School, Oyubia, into a model primary school. Oyubia is an Oron town in Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area.
The project is delivered by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Umo Eno. In October 2024 the model school allocated to the LGA was expected to take off soon. Officials of the Governor's Office and the Project Monitoring and Delivery Team later inspected the school with the Executive Chairman of the council, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Uno Etim Uno. Work on the school is ongoing.
The new school is meant to give pupils in Oyubia and nearby villages modern classrooms and a better place to learn, close to home.
It is expected to raise the standard of public primary education in the area, in line with the education pillar of the ARISE Agenda. The school has not yet been commissioned.
