About the project

This project is a new block of three classrooms at Government Primary School, Elei village, in Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area.

It is a constituency project of Rt. Hon. Precious Selong, the member representing Urue Offong/Oruko State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. The block is completed.

The building has a covered veranda along the front, tiled floors, windows on both sides, ceiling fans, lights and a chalkboard in each classroom.

The new classrooms are meant to reduce overcrowding and give pupils and teachers in Elei a better place to learn. Parents are expected to save money because children can attend a well built school in their own village.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

The classrooms give children in Elei more room to learn, and a water point at the site can serve both the school and nearby homes. Water at school supports hand washing and hygiene.

For work and income

Solar power lets the water system run without fuel. A school in the village saves parents the cost of sending children elsewhere.
