About the project

The Mbiaya Uruan - Idu - Mbiakong Uruan Road is a 9.0-kilometre road in Uruan Local Government Area. It links the communities of Mbiaya Uruan, Idu and Mbiakong Uruan, and includes a bridge with a 60-metre span.

Idu is the headquarters of Uruan Local Government Area. The road was started under an earlier administration, and work has continued under Governor Pastor Umo Eno. Work is ongoing, and a paved section already runs through farmland.

The road is meant to give the communities a direct, all-season link to the council headquarters, and to help farmers move their produce to markets. It fits the ARISE Agenda's aim of completing inherited projects and opening up rural areas.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

The road ties villages to the council headquarters at Idu, where many public services are found. The bridge is meant to give a crossing that can be used all year.

For work and income

The road passes through farmland, so farmers can move cassava, yam, maize and other produce out more easily. These roads support commerce and agriculture and ease the movement of goods across Uruan.

Background

Inherited from an earlier administration and continued under the Umo Eno administration.
