About the project
The Chairman's Lodge project is the building of an official residence for the council chairman in each of the 31 Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State. The lodges are being built under the administration of Governor Umo Eno.
The first lodge, the pilot, is in Eket LGA. Work is now ongoing on lodges across the 31 LGAs.
Each lodge is meant to give the council chairman a fixed official home within the local government area, close to the council and the people it serves.
The project supports the ARISE Agenda's aim of strengthening local government and bringing governance closer to the grassroots.
