About the project

The Airport Hospital is a modern hospital being built at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It is one of about 10 aviation projects that the state government under Governor Umo Eno is building to support the airport's new international status.

The project is paid for by the Akwa Ibom State Government. In August 2024 the Governor announced plans to upgrade the airport clinic to match the new international standard of the airport. The hospital is now listed with the second runway, apron expansion, Aviation Village, perimeter fencing and security surveillance systems among the critical projects under way at the airport. Construction is ongoing.

The hospital is expected to give quick medical help to passengers, crew and airport workers as more flights, including international flights, use the airport. It forms part of the ARISE Agenda plan to make Akwa Ibom an aviation hub in the Gulf of Guinea.
