About the project
The Stadium Road is a 1.38-kilometre road in Abat, the headquarters of Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The road is being built by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno as a direct labour and intervention project. Other direct labour works in Onna include the Mkpaeto-Ikot Ndodot Road and flood control facilities at the council secretariat in Abat. Its current status is yet to be confirmed.
Abat is where the council and other public offices are, so the road is meant to serve people who come to the headquarters, as well as residents and users of the stadium area. It is expected to ease movement in the town and improve access to public services.
