For families and communities
The road is meant to join villages on the Onna and Mkpat Enin boundary. A good road and drain can make it easier for families to visit each other, reach schools and get to health care across the two areas.
I want to share that work on Ikot Akata-Ikot Akpa Ekop-Ntan Ide Edem Udo Road in Onna LGA is planned. A 9.24 kilometre road with a spur and a 1.0 kilometre discharge drain.

A 9.24 kilometre road with a spur and a 1.0 kilometre discharge drain. It runs through Mkpat Enin and Onna Local Government Areas, so it also appears on the Mkpat Enin page. A finished bridge stands on the route.

The Ikot Akata-Ikot Akpa Ekop-Ntan Ide Edem Udo Road is a 9.24-kilometre road that runs through Ikot Akata, Ikot Akpa Ekop and Ntan Ide Edem Udo. It lies in both Mkpat Enin and Onna Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State.
The project includes a spur road, a bridge on the route and a 1.0-kilometre discharge drain to carry storm water away from the road. It is one of the road projects in the area under the administration of Governor Pastor Umo Eno. Its current status is yet to be confirmed.
The road is meant to give communities on both sides of the Onna and Mkpat Enin boundary an all-season link to each other and to nearby markets. It should make it easier for farmers and traders to move their goods and for residents to reach schools and health centres.
It fits the Rural Development pillar of the ARISE Agenda, which aims to open up rural communities and link them to the wider State road network.

Better roads ease the movement of farm produce and goods and improve access to markets. This route can help farmers on both sides of the boundary reach buyers.
