About the project

St Simeon Primary School in Ebighi Ube, Okobo Local Government Area, now has a new block of three classrooms with modern toilets. A solar-powered water system was also installed. The school name is also written St Simon.

The project was delivered by the Member representing Okobo State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Bassey Pius Bassey, who also chairs the House Committee on Environment. It was handed over in April 2026, about three weeks after his Constituency Briefing and Empowerment Programme of 24 March 2026.

The new classrooms are expected to give pupils a better place to learn. Before this, the pupils had inadequate classrooms and poor sanitation. The water system is meant to serve both the school and the people of Ebighi Ube.

Community leaders, parents and pupils have welcomed the project. No contractor has been named.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

Pupils in Ebighi Ube have new classrooms to learn in. More classroom space can ease crowding and gives teachers proper rooms to teach in.

For work and income

Better classrooms in the village mean families do not have to look further away for a primary school. Over time, schooling helps young people find work or run their own trade.
