About the project

St. Patrick's Model Primary School is a rebuilt public primary school at Nto Ide in Obot Akara Local Government Area. It was upgraded from St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School into a model school, with a laboratory, modern learning facilities and a perimeter fence.

The Akwa Ibom State Government delivered the school under Governor Umo Eno. The Governor approved it in May 2024, when he came to Nto Ide to commission the nearby Nto Ide to Ikot Amba Bridge. The school is completed.

The school was commissioned on 31 July 2025. Governor Umo Eno was represented by Chief Assam E. Assam, SAN, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Russia, who urged the community to protect the school from vandalism and theft.

The school is meant to give children in Nto Ide and nearby villages a safe, modern place to learn, and to help teachers do their work. It is part of the ARISE Agenda plan to build model primary schools across the state's 31 Local Government Areas.
