About the project

The Youth-Friendly Centre at Odot is a youth hub in Nsit Atai Local Government Area. It is one of 31 youth-friendly centres the Akwa Ibom State Government is building, one in each local government area, under Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda.

The centre is completed and equipped, with a reception area. Nsit Atai is one of the first seven LGAs where the state has started skills training at these centres, alongside Oron, Ikono, Uruan, Etinan, Nsit Ubium and Etim Ekpo. Applications for its first three-month training programme opened in September 2026, for young people aged 45 and below who come from and live in the LGA.

The hubs are designed to support innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, ICT, arts and culture, networking and digital learning.

The centre is meant to give young people in Nsit Atai a place to learn job skills, start businesses and work on new ideas close to home. Its long-term value will depend on steady programmes, upkeep of the equipment and regular use by young people.
