About the project
The Model Primary School at Ikot Akpabio is a new public primary school in Nsit Atai Local Government Area. It was built by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda, which promised a model primary school and a model health centre in every local government area.
The school is completed. It has a main school building, a computer room and a staff and visitors' room. The state's model primary schools are solar-powered and come with computer laboratories and teachers' quarters, and pupils receive free uniforms, books, shoes and bags.
The school is meant to give young children in Nsit Atai a modern place to learn close to home, so families do not have to send them outside the LGA for a better school. It is expected to raise the standard of public primary education in the area.

Impact Analysis
An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.
For families and communities
Children can attend a better equipped primary school near where they live. This eases the pressure on families to send children outside Nsit Atai. A good primary education is also the base for secondary, tertiary and vocational learning later on.
For work and income
A school close to home can lower what families spend on transport and on schooling away from the LGA. Early computer skills also help prepare children for later study and work.
