About the project

This project is the construction of the official residence of the Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Council. It is planned on a site of over 3,000 square metres and will include a duplex, a meeting hall, boys' quarters and other facilities.

The groundbreaking took place on Wednesday 14 January 2026. It was performed by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ubong Umoh, who represented Governor Pastor Umo Eno. Work is ongoing.

Governor Eno has said official residences will be built for all local government chairmen across the State, so that council chairmen live within the areas they serve. The residence is meant to give the council a permanent official home for its chairman and a place to receive guests and hold meetings.

It is part of the ARISE Agenda's support for stronger local government administration.
