For families and communities
People have moved from mud and zinc shelters into finished brick houses. This gives them safer and drier homes in their own villages.
I'm proud to share that work on ARISE Compassionate Homes in Mbo LGA is finished. Ten homes for vulnerable residents across Mbo communities.

Ten homes for vulnerable residents across Mbo communities. They replace shelters such as a mud house and a zinc-roofed hut. They are finished brick bungalows with furnished bedroom, living and dining rooms.

The ARISE Compassionate Homes in Mbo Local Government Area are free houses built by the Akwa Ibom State Government for vulnerable residents, such as widows, the elderly and indigent families. The scheme is part of the ARISE Agenda of Governor Pastor Umo Eno.
Ten homes have been built in Mbo. They are at Orukim Uda, Akai Ati Udesi, Akai-Ebughu, Uko Akpan in Enwang, Ukonteghe Uda, Etisong Ebughu, Ibaka, Unyeghe, Esuk Enwang and Ibete Enwang.
Each home replaces a poor shelter, such as a mud house or a zinc-roofed hut. The new houses are finished two-bedroom brick bungalows with a furnished bedroom, living room and dining area, and a water supply powered by solar energy. Beneficiaries under the scheme also receive N500,000 in business support to help them earn a living.
The homes are meant to give each family a safe and decent place to live in their own village, and a fresh start.

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

A furnished house frees the household from the cost of repairs and rent. Building in ten communities can also give work to local masons, carpenters and suppliers.
