Ten homes were constructed for named vulnerable beneficiaries in ten communities. Two further homes are ongoing (see the next entry).

The ARISE Compassionate Homes in Itu Local Government Area are part of Governor Pastor Umo Eno's housing scheme for poor and vulnerable people. Ten homes in this group have been built and handed over.
The homes are at Ikot Abiyak, Ikot Ekwere Itam, Mbak Itam, Akon Itam, Ekid Itam Akpan Obong, Atai Ibiaku, Ikot Uso Akpan, Ikot Annie Itam, Mbak Obio Itam and Ikot Ekang Itam.
Under the scheme, the state government builds a two-bedroom, solar-powered bungalow for widows, people living with disability and others in need. Each new owner also receives N500,000 to start a small business.
The homes are meant to give each family a safe and decent place to live and a way to earn a living. The scheme is a flagship of the ARISE Agenda and aims to reach every political ward in the state. Two more homes are under construction in Itu, at Ayadehe and Esin Ufot.

A house provided at no cost frees a poor household from rent and repair bills. Building in many villages can also bring some work to local artisans.
