About the project
The Model Primary Health Centre in Ini Local Government Area is being built at Aba Itiat, Odoro Ukwok, in the Ukwok area of Ini.
Governor Umo Eno approved the siting of the centre in the community, and a contractor moved to site soon after. When the member representing Ini State Constituency, Hon. Lawrence Udoide, visited on Friday, 9 January 2026, the land had been cleared and graded. In September 2026 the Ini Local Government Council listed the Model Primary Health Centre, Ukwok, among state projects being executed in the LGA. It has not yet been reported as completed or commissioned.
The centre is meant to bring primary health care closer to Ukwok and the communities around it. People are expected to travel shorter distances for routine care.
The project forms part of the health pillar of the ARISE Agenda.
