About the project

The Ikot Ekpene International Market is a new large market under construction in Ikot Ekpene, Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area. It fulfils a promise by Governor Pastor Umo Eno to build an international market in the town.

The project consultant moved to site ahead of full construction, and work is now ongoing. Foundations and stall structures are being built.

The market is meant to boost trade in Ikot Ekpene and link the town with major commercial hubs in other states. It is also expected to cut costs for young business owners who often travel outside the state to buy goods and raw materials.

The project is part of the ARISE Agenda's push for commercial growth across Akwa Ibom State.
