About the project
The ARISE Model Primary School, Ikot Isong, is a new public primary school in northern Etinan Local Government Area. It was built under Phase 1 of the state's model school programme, which delivers one model primary school in each local government area.
The school has new school buildings and a paved forecourt. It was designed as a modern place of learning for children in a rural community.
The school is meant to raise the standard of basic education in the area and give rural children the same quality of learning as children in the cities. It is also expected to encourage families to stay in their communities rather than move to towns for better schools. Foundational learning is a key pillar of the ARISE Agenda.
Governor Pastor Umo Eno commissioned the school, represented by his Political Adviser, Dr Godwin Ntukudeh.
