About the project
This is the official residence, or Chairman's Lodge, of the Executive Chairman of Essien Udim Local Government Council. It stands along the Police Academy road, near the Police Secondary School.
The lodge is part of a state programme under Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda to give each council chairman an official home in the local government area. Construction of lodges across the state was flagged off on 14 January 2026.
The Essien Udim lodge is a four-bedroom en-suite duplex with three living rooms. It also has a two-bedroom boys' quarters, a kitchen, a meeting hall, a security post, a generator house, and a perimeter fence and gate. It was handed over furnished.
The lodge was commissioned on 23 September 2026 as part of the Akwa Ibom at 39 anniversary projects. Hon. Nsetim Akpabio represented the Governor and handed it over to the council chairman, Hon. Ntiedo Usoro.
The lodge is expected to keep the chairman living within the council area and closer to the people he serves.
