About the project

The Youth-Friendly ICT Hub, also called the ARISE Youth Development Centre, is being built at the Local Government headquarters in Okoroete, Eastern Obolo. It is one of 31 youth-friendly centres the Akwa Ibom State Government is building, one in each local government area, under Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda.

Work is ongoing. Buildings and foundation work are in progress.

The hubs are designed as places for skills training, ICT and digital learning, business start-ups, creative work and networking. Completed hubs in other LGAs have begun three-month skills programmes for young people.

When finished, the centre is meant to give young people in Eastern Obolo a place close to home to learn job skills, start businesses and work on new ideas.
