About the project

This is the official residence being built for the Executive Chairman of Eastern Obolo Local Government Council at Okoroete, the LGA headquarters. It is also called the Chairman's Lodge.

It is part of a programme announced by Governor Umo Eno to build a residence for the council chairman in each of the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom State. The first of these residences was at Eket.

Work is ongoing. The building is a storey structure, and the blockwork walls have reached the upper floor.

Governor Eno has said council chairmen should live among the people they serve. The lodge is meant to keep the chairman resident in Okoroete and close to the coastal communities, so the council can respond faster to local needs.
