About the project

Alongside its major roads, the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno has worked on a number of smaller streets across Uyo.

They include Tony Tommy Street, Ime Bishop Okon Street, High Tension Lane, Barrister Lawrence Udosen Avenue, Pastor Umoren Avenue, Edem Urua Street and Eda Street, among others.

These streets serve homes, churches, schools and small businesses in residential parts of the capital. The work is meant to give residents better access, reduce flooding through new drains and make neighbourhoods easier to get around.

It follows the state's policy that roads built or rebuilt in Uyo come with proper drains, in line with the ARISE Agenda.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

Work on neighbourhood streets reaches households directly, at their own gates. It can make walking and driving on these streets easier.

For work and income

Street-level roads help small shops and home businesses, since customers and suppliers can reach them. They also reduce wear on vehicles.
