For families and communities
A finished road to the market should make market days less hard for the people who trade there and for those who walk or ride in from nearby villages.
I'm glad to share that work on Ekponwa Market Road in Nsit Ibom LGA is under way. A road leading to Ekponwa Market that is under construction.

The Ekponwa Market Road is a rural road project in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. It leads to Ekponwa Market, a major rural market in the area.
The work is ongoing. Earthworks are under way, and drains have been built beside the road to carry off rain water.
Ekponwa Market is one of three markets in the state picked for an agro-logistics market under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), which the state runs with the World Bank. A good road to the market is meant to help traders, farmers and buyers reach it in all seasons.
When finished, the road is expected to cut the cost of moving farm produce, reduce post-harvest losses and boost trade in the market. It supports the ARISE Agenda's focus on agriculture and rural development.

Markets depend on goods coming in and going out. When completed, the road is meant to make that movement easier and to support trade at Ekponwa Market.
