About the project
This project covers the renovation of three government primary schools in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area. The aim is to improve the learning environment and give pupils and teachers better facilities.
The work is part of the Akwa Ibom State Government's programme under Governor Pastor Umo Eno to repair and upgrade public primary schools. In 2023 the Governor declared a state of emergency on primary education and ordered a facelift for public primary schools across the state. The names of the three schools and the details of the work are not yet on record.
The renovated schools serve pupils, teachers, parents and the host communities. Repairing existing buildings keeps them in use and saves the cost of new structures.
Better classrooms are expected to make learning easier and to encourage more children to stay in school. The project fits the education focus of the ARISE Agenda.
