For families and communities
The roads are meant to give students and teachers a firm, drained way into and around the school in all seasons. The drain is there to carry storm water away from the school grounds.
I'm glad to share that work on St Francis Secondary School internal roads and access road in Eket LGA is under way. Construction of 1.2km of internal roads with a 120m discharge drain at the school.

This project covers roads at Saint Francis Secondary School, at Ikot Ataku and Ikot Akpandem in the Okon area of Eket Local Government Area. It includes roads inside the school grounds and the road that leads to the school.
The project covers 1.2 kilometres of new internal roads with a 120-metre discharge drain, and the rehabilitation of the 1.45-kilometre access road. It is funded by the Akwa Ibom State Government. The contractor and dates have not been published. Work is in progress: kerbs are laid and the road surface is still being worked on.
The roads are expected to make it safer and easier for students, teachers and visitors to reach and move around the school, and the drain is meant to stop flooding on the grounds.
The project reflects the ARISE Agenda focus on better learning environments and rural access.
