About the project

This project covers the construction and remodelling of selected roads, roundabouts and junctions in Eket town, in two phases.

It includes 1.6 kilometres of dualised road and 2.2 kilometres of carriageway widened to 10 metres. The project was started under the previous administration and is now carried by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno. N500 million was set aside in the 2026 budget for selected roads, roundabouts and junctions in Eket town. No works have been reported yet.

The work is meant to ease traffic in Eket town and make junctions safer for drivers and people on foot. It is also expected to improve the look of the town centre and support local businesses.

The project is part of the ARISE Agenda effort to finish inherited projects and renew the state's main towns.

Impact Analysis

An assessment of the impact of these accomplishments on the people and communities.

For families and communities

Wider roads and remodelled junctions are meant to make movement through the centre of Eket more orderly.

For work and income

Eket is a town on major routes, and better junctions can help traffic and trade pass through it.
