The ARISE empowerment grants in Uruan Local Government Area give cash grants, equipment and vehicles to farmers, traders and small business owners. The scheme is run by the Akwa Ibom State Government under Governor Pastor Umo Eno as part of the ARISE Agenda.
In Uruan, 224 people benefited in all. 48 farmers shared N25,000,000 in ARISE Farmers grants and 106 traders shared N47,950,000 in ARISE Traders grants. Another 65 people received equipment support, and two small businesses received MSME grants of N5,000,000 each. Two people received mini buses and one received a car.
Uruan is part of Uyo Federal Constituency, together with Uyo, Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan. Grants for the constituency were presented by the Governor at the Uyo Federal Constituency Town Square Meeting, held at the Ibom Hall grounds in Uyo on 10 August 2025. Across the four LGAs, 1,187 people shared N492.7 million in farm, trade and business grants, equipment, cars and mini buses.
The grants are meant to help small farms and businesses grow, create jobs and raise household incomes in Uruan.

The support helps households earn a living from their own work.
Grants give farmers and traders capital to buy inputs and stock. Equipment and vehicles let people take on more work or run transport services, which keeps money moving in local markets.
