The ARISE empowerment grants are cash support from the Akwa Ibom State Government for traders, farmers and small business owners. People in Oron Local Government Area have received these grants under Governor Umo Eno.
In April 2025, at the town hall meeting for Oron Federal Constituency, the Governor shared N335 million among people from Oron, Okobo, Udung Uko, Urue Offong Oruko and Mbo. Of this, N225 million went to 543 traders and business owners. N51 million went to 108 farmers from the N2 billion ARISE Farmers' Loan Scheme. A further N50 million was shared among 10 entrepreneurs, at N5 million each.
The grants came under three schemes: the ARISE Traders' Grants, the ARISE Farmers' Grants and the ARISE MSMEs Grants. The same meeting gathered the needs of the people to guide the 2026 state budget.
The grants are meant to help small businesses buy stock, grow and take on workers, and to help farmers expand their output. They are part of the ARISE Agenda's work to grow the economy from the grassroots.

Empowerment initiatives give Oron indigenes a chance to benefit from economic support and strengthen grassroots development.
Grants can help small traders and business owners buy stock or tools. This support is linked to economic inclusion.
