For families and communities
If the fund is released as approved, it could reach many working people across the LGA and help households that depend on small trades.

The N1 billion empowerment fund for Nsit Ibom is money set aside to support working people in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area. It targets traders, farmers, transport operators, youths, women and owners of small businesses.
The fund was approved by the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council, presided over by Governor Umo Eno, and is paid for from the state's 2026 approved budget. A committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, is to work out how it will be carried out. No payments in Nsit Ibom have been reported yet.
The plan covers skills training with starter packs for youths, support for women's cooperatives, business grants for traders, farm inputs for farmers, help for small and medium businesses, and a transport scheme that includes tricycles.
The fund is expected to raise family incomes, help small businesses grow and create jobs across the LGA. It is meant to carry forward the ARISE Agenda's focus on people and small enterprise.
If the fund is released as approved, it could reach many working people across the LGA and help households that depend on small trades.
The aim is to support trade, farming, transport and the growth of small businesses in Nsit Ibom.
