About the programme

The ARISE MSME, farmer and trader grants are cash and equipment grants given by the Akwa Ibom State Government to working people in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area. They were given out under the ARISE Town Square Meeting and Empowerment programme, which Governor Umo Eno took round the federal constituencies of the state.

Nsit Ibom is part of Etinan Federal Constituency, together with Etinan and Nsit Ubium. The constituency meeting, the last in the series, held on 23 August 2025 at the Nsit Ubium Council Secretariat, Ikot Edibon. Across the three LGAs, 844 people received grants worth N361,450,000.

In Nsit Ibom, 90 farmers, 72 traders and 65 people who needed work equipment received grants. Two small business owners received MSME grants of N5 million each. One person received a car and two people received minibuses.

Beneficiaries were drawn from the ARISE portal. The scheme was meant for people who already run a business, a farm or a market shop, or who have a skill but lack the tools to work, and who live in the LGA. The grants are expected to help them grow their work, earn more and employ others, in line with the ARISE Agenda's focus on people and small enterprise.
