The ARISE grants and equipment support programme gives cash grants, equipment and vehicles to farmers, traders and small business owners in Ikono Local Government Area. It is part of the ARISE Empowerment Scheme of Governor Umo Eno's administration.
Applicants register on the ARISE Youth Employment portal, and qualified citizens of each federal constituency are selected. Ikono shares the Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency with Ini Local Government Area.
On 21 August 2025, at the Ikono/Ini Town Square Meeting at Ibiaku Ntok Okpo, the Governor presented grants to 476 people from the two LGAs. The total was N239,150,000, covering farming, trading and equipment grants.
The grants are meant to help farmers grow more food, help traders expand their businesses and give young people the tools to earn a living. Across the state, more than 7,600 people have benefited from the ARISE Empowerment programme through the town square meetings.
The support goes to ordinary farmers and traders across Ikono.
In a farming area, a grant can pay for inputs for the next planting season.
