For families and communities
The outreach takes care to people in their own communities. That helps mothers and small children who might not reach a clinic in time.

The Golden Initiative For All, the project of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, has given free medical services in communities through its Wheels of Hope outreach, with a focus on pregnant women and children under five.
I'm glad to share that Wheels of Hope medical outreach in Ika LGA is reaching people.

Wheels of Hope is a free medical outreach run by the Golden Initiative for All (GIFA). GIFA was founded by the late Pastor Patience Umo Eno, wife of Governor Umo Eno. The outreach takes health care to communities where distance and poor access make it hard to see a doctor.
In Ika Local Government Area, the outreach gave free care to pregnant women and children aged 0 to 5. Services included medical consultations, antenatal checks, child health services and vitamins. Thousands of people were reached.
The Ika visit ended the current phase of the outreach in February 2026, after earlier stops in Uyo and Onna Local Government Areas. It was part of activities to mark GIFA's second anniversary and to honour the legacy of its founder.
The outreach was led by the GIFA Board Chair and Coordinator, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, who was represented by Mrs Enobong Edidem, with Pastor Anne Abraham as team lead. It had the support of the Akwa Ibom State Government and the Ika Local Government Council under its Chairman, Barr. Utibe Nwoko.
By reaching mothers and young children early, the outreach is meant to catch health problems before they become serious and to support safer pregnancies and healthier childhoods.
The outreach takes care to people in their own communities. That helps mothers and small children who might not reach a clinic in time.
Free services spare poor families the cost of treatment and travel. This outreach supports the wider health work in Ika.
