About the programme

This programme covers grants, equipment and vehicles given to farmers, traders and small businesses in Esit Eket Local Government Area under the ARISE empowerment scheme of the Akwa Ibom State Government, along with training.

In Esit Eket there were 37 Farmers Grants, 77 Traders Grants, 57 people under the Equipment Support Scheme and 2 MSME grants of 5 million naira. One car and two mini buses were also given. In all, 176 people benefited, with a total cash grant of 65,400,000 naira.

Esit Eket was one of four Local Government Areas covered by the Eket Federal Constituency disbursement held at the Cenotaph by Eket Township Stadium in early August 2025. That event, for Eket, Esit Eket, Onna and Ibeno, reached 1,076 people with about 401 million naira in grants and support. The support was open to qualified citizens registered on the ARISE empowerment portal.

The grants are meant to help farmers grow more food, help traders expand their business and help small firms buy the equipment they need. The scheme is part of the ARISE Agenda drive to create jobs and raise incomes at the grassroots.
