ARISE empowerment support in Mbo Local Government Area is part of the Akwa Ibom State Government's grants and equipment scheme for farmers, traders and small business owners under the ARISE Agenda of Governor Pastor Umo Eno.
In Mbo, 20 people received the ARISE Farmers Grant and 90 received the ARISE Traders Grant. Another 64 people received equipment support. One car and one mini bus were also given out to help beneficiaries run transport businesses.
Mbo shares in the wider grants for the Oron Federal Constituency, which covers Oron, Okobo, Udung Uko, Urue Offong/Oruko and Mbo. Across the five LGAs, N335 million was shared: N51 million to 108 farmers, N225 million to 543 traders and N50 million to 10 entrepreneurs, who received N5 million each. The grants were announced at a town hall meeting held as part of preparations for the 2026 budget.
The support is meant to give farmers and traders working capital, help small businesses buy tools and grow, and create jobs in Mbo's farming, fishing and trading communities.
